Motorhome adventures in and around Aberfeldy

Aberfeldy is about an hour from our base, and really easy to drive to. It’s a thriving small town, with lots to do nearby. There are several cafés, a deli, and a good sized Co-op with parking nearby for motorhome sized vehicles. You can stock up for picnics at a great bakery and butcher’s. There’s an ice cream shop in the summer months, and a brilliant community owned cinema for rainy days. One of our favourite spots is the Watermill bookshop and cafe – deservedly award winning and has real soul. Leave plenty of time for mooching around there, and its sister interiors shop Homer. For children, Aberfeldy also has a great play park a short walk away from the Watermill’s rear entrance.

Aberfeldy’s own amazing rural cinema , owned by the community. the Birks is a must-visit venue to see a film and relax over coffee & cake.

In the area around there is some great walking – Munros for the serious walker (Schiehallion and Ben Lawers are nearby) or the nearby Birks of Aberfeldy, lovely gorge walks in the forest, with waterfalls. Out of town and into the hills there are also plenty of quiet spots by the river for a swim / paddle and a barbecue. If you’re looking for more excitement, there are also loads of opportunities for white water rafting and canyoning in spectacular scenery.
