A review from Bill’s adventure this November

“What a week! Our second time using MAS and it was just as good as the first, it all starts with a warm welcome in Kinross, a smooth handover and we were off.

We hired Bill, and although family sized, it’s also a perfect van for couples at this time of year as the evenings come early and there is plenty of space to lounge and relax. We stayed off grid for 5 of our 7 nights, Bill copes easily with this and we never had any concerns over battery levels etc.

We headed up to our favourite area, the North West, a quick first night stop near Lairg and then on to Kylesku. There is an absolutely fantastic hotel in Kylesku, nothing else but there are two great overnight areas to park by the spectacular bridge. We had a meal in the hotel, our holiday treat, amazing food and as ever a warm Scottish welcome.

We spent our next couple of nights exploring the area, with the roads as they are this far up it can take hours to do 50 miles, the Drumbeg Road is bucket list stuff as is the Sandwood Bay trek, A M A Z I N G!!

Bill took everything we threw at him in his stride, it was so nice to stop every time we found an amazing view and pop the kettle on or change into dry clothes after a walk and sit and have some lunch by the side of another beautiful loch.

We eventually started the drive back down settling on Aviemore for our last 2 nights, brilliant new campsite only been open since August, we had it to ourselves, Oakwood. We spent the two days exploring the Cairngorms, beautiful scenery, different from up top but still lovely. We ended our trip with a visit to The Glenlivet, brilliant tour which again was just us.

A wee dram!

Thank you to Liz and Richard for brilliant service, we’ll be booking again for next year, we wouldn’t use anyone else and if anyone is reading this and considering booking, I say do,it, you won’t regret it.”
